About

The memorable score to Danielle Krudy and Bridget Savage Cole’s debut film Blow the Man Down (Amazon Studios, 2020) is now available. Co-composed by Jordan Dykstra and Brian McOmber, the score features four traditional sea shanties sung by David Coffin (with the title track sung on-screen). The Baffler kindly wrote “just hearing the music makes the film worth seeing” but BTMD has already created a buzz landing on many lists for the Best Films of 2020.

Artist Bio

Jordan Dykstra and Brian McOmber first met in Portland, Oregon in 2009 while working on the album Bitte Orca by Dirty Projects (Dykstra was the string director and violist on the album while McOmber played drums). A few years later they reconnected in Connecticut to work on the score for It Comes At Night (A24, 2017) which then led to them working together on the documentaries Hail Satan? (Magnolia Pictures, 2019) and the 2-part Emmy-winning PBS Frontline series Documenting Hate (PBS/ProPublica, 2019).
